A luxurious family vacation in paradise at the Grand Wailea Resort…

The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui is the perfect place to enjoy a luxurious and fun vacation with your family. We have never been disappointed with the hotel after many trips…

Check out Scott and Amy’s short video review of the Grand Wailea…

Here are my top five reasons why you will love staying at the Grand Wailea with your kids.

#5: Location, Location, Location: The Grand Wailea Resort is located on forty acres of lush tropical gardens in beautiful and serene Maui. You’ll fall asleep to the sounds of crashing waves as the ocean serenades you to sleep. You can’t help but to feel happy, relaxed and at peace when gazing at the crystal clear ocean and the beautiful Hawaiian flowers and foliage.

#4: Service With A Smile: The staff at the resort is very friendly and accommodating with families. To maximize our vacation time, we arrived in the early afternoon on the first day and took an overnight flight on our way home. The resort accommodated us with a complimentary courtesy room so we could change into our beach gear before our hotel room was ready. They also let us use a courtesy room to shower and get ready for the airport on our last day so we could enjoy more time at the pool. This really made us feel like we got our money’s worth out of our hard earned vacation.

Tip: If you can plan your vacation during Maui’s off-season you can save substantial money on airfare and rooms. The best times to visit Maui are mid January, late April through mid June and September through mid December. Avoid the holiday season and Summer if you can.

#3: A Room With A View: In 2014, the resort underwent a $30 million renovation to update the guest rooms with all new furniture, LED lighting and a brand new look with a peaceful ocean motif. The bathrooms are spacious and luxurious with both spa bathtubs and showers. The Grand Wailea’s bath products are divine. The Honey Mango Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Body Lotion come in generous sizes. Take your leftovers home and you’ll be transported back to your tropical vacation every time you take a shower. Did someone say Aloha?

Tip: Book a “Garden Terrace” room for an ocean view and a quick walk to the pool.

#2: Start Your Day Off Right: The breakfast buffet at the resort is incredible. Fill up on fresh tropical pineapple and guava juice, made to order smoothies, breakfast cereals, delicious pastries, pancakes, waffles and hash browns. There is also a custom omelet bar and the most amazing homemade Hawaiian donuts with powdered sugar. The breakfast buffet can accommodate vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets. Kids five years old and under eat free which is an amazing deal. The servers at the restaurant are so friendly. We’ve been coming to the resort for years and have seen many of the same friendly faces working at the restaurant. We were so impressed when a few of the servers even remembered how we take our coffee and what juice our son loves the following year. The staff at this resort really makes an effort to make each guest feel special and welcome.

Tip: Get there early to score a table with a prime ocean view.

#1: Splish Splash: The water activities for kids at the resort are amazing. For babies and toddlers, the man-made kids beach is wonderful. Kids can play in the sand or lounge in the shallow water. The family pools have waterfalls to swim under, three Jacuzzis, a lazy river (our family’s favorite), multiple water slides for kids of all ages, a Tarzan rope swing and the world’s only water elevator.

You also have access to the resort’s private area of the beautiful Maui beach (beach chairs and towels are provided) and can sign up for water activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking and more!

Tip: When you arrive, find a family who is leaving later that day and you can score their water floats and beach toys. Remember to pay it forward and share your beach booty with another family when you leave the resort.
